The Call to Commitment (Biography) written by Jalaine C. H. Salic

An ordinary basketball player become a Pastor. He is Checkerd Cabis Auditor, 45 years old and was born on December 2, 1979 at Alamada, North Cotabato. His parents named Neli and Leonardo Auditor. Pastor Checkered only study until 2nd year of his college at Mindanao Institute Technology. Pastor Checkerd is currently living at Sitio Saboy, Barangay Lunen, Tupi, South Cotabato together with his wife named Jonelyn Mendez Auditor and their two lovely daughters. He was working before at KCC mall of Koronadal City as a sales clerk while his wife is a security guard at that time, that's where they met and become a lovers. After that work, pastor Checkered also worked in SOCSARGEN County Hospital in General Santos City as a food server or staff for 15 years.

According to Pastor Checkered, he becomes a pastor not because he want it, but the lord wanted him to become a pastor, choosed him to preach his Gospel. He believes he was chosen by God according to Jeremiah 3:15 that says "And I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will lead you with knowledge and understanding" in this verse, God promises to provide shepherds who will lead the people with knowledge and understanding. These shepherds will be loyal to God and prioritize the spiritual well-being of people over their own personal gain. 

Before he become a pastor, he was just an ordinary basketball player that got invited by Pastor Johny Sapio, their senior pastor. 

As an basketball player, being a Pastor or a servant of the Lord is never been his dream. In fact, he avoided the call of the Lord for 10 years before. According to him, he don't even know how to preach and to manage a people and church that's why he's doubting if he can make it, if he can stand with the heavy commitment. But after 10 years of rise and sink in church, the Lord finally "Catched" him, that made him who is he now. He becomes a Pastor of Community Church of Christ in Sitio Saboy, Brgy. Lunen, Tupi, South Cotabato for almost 6 years already.

But before he can finally be a Pastor, he was working at Hospital that time as a server. According to him, his work was stable, but because of God's constant call, he choose to gave up his long term work that provides their daily needs to focus on ministry, even if he was not sure what will happened next. And thinking of his family, on how can he feed them without work. But because he believes that we can't serve two masters at the same time, he chosed the commitment to the Lord.

As a Pastor, he also went through different struggles and challenges in his journey. Pastor Checkered also experienced being mocked by other people because he don't study of becoming a Pastor. The people around him keep saying that he doesn't know about the bible at all for not studying and finishing his study and the Lord was the only one who gave him knowledge about the bible. But because he has faith and he believes on the bible verse in Corinthians that says, he will curse all the people who are mocking the servant of the lord. He felt protected by the Holy Spirit. 

Pastor Checkered also believes that when your center in your life was the Lord now, the trials will follow, the enemy will try multiple times to get you from the light of the Lord, and in that situation, The lord will test your how faithful you are.

Knowing that Pastor Checkerd loss his work, it is a miracle for him that they are able to survive in their everyday lives. Their table was always full, and there are people the God is using as an instrument to help him and their family. Pastor Checkered don't have a salary at the church at all, unlike the other pastors who receives salary montly, but in the case of Pastor Checkerd he don't receive anything from the money of the church, even though he was allowed to get some allowance from the tithes in the church for his expenses for the work of the Lord, he chosed not to get even a single peso because he want to save the tithes and offerings in improving the church.

After facing the challenges, and being loyal to ministry, the Lord blessed Pastor Checkered and gave him opportunity to go to Israel and see the beauty of bible in person without expenses, without bringing money, that we all know that traveling costs a large amount of money. But in God's grace, he allowed Pastor Checkered to join the other pastors in traveling and visiting the places in bible.

The life of Pastor Checkerd shows that if you are committed to the Lord, nothing will bring you down. And when you work hard for the ministry, you will receive a favor from the Lord. In Luke verse 1:21 saying that "With man it is impossible, but with the Lord everything is possible" so let's just keep believing and be faithful with the lord. Because he is the one who can answer our prayers and holds our future. Pastor Checkerd is the living testimony how good is the Lord when you do him a favor and when you have a faith on him.
